Stonz Wear {review & giveaway}
Trying to find nice warm winter boots that also allow your little one to walk is not easy. Stonz Wear on the other hand are easy. Stonz Wear (a great Vancouver company) have created a two part system: Booties and Linerz. The Booties come in sizes newborn to 2.5 years and in some select sizes for 2-3 years old (XL).
Booties are so versatile that they can be worn over shoes, slippers, bare feet or in conjunction with the Stonz Linerz. They are made of durable coated nylon uppers that are wind and water resistant and have a nice wide opening to slip on easily. The great part about these Booties is that they have two adjustable toggles at the calf and ankle to provide a custom fit and help the Booties stay on. Plus, these toggles help prevent the snow from going down and getting your little one’s feet cold. On top of that, they have rubberized, skid resistant soft soles and are machine wash and dry safe! Now try doing that with a regular pair of winter boots.
This is our second winter using Stonz Wear Booties. Last winter, we didn’t get much use of them because it just wasn’t that cold. But when it was and we had mr. bean in the MEC carrier, they were perfect for keeping his little 6 month old ankles warm. They also worked quite well for in the stroller. Last winter he wasn’t walking yet, so we didn’t get to put them to the full test.
But, this year mr. bean is running and he loves wearing his Stonz Booties! We had an early snow out here on the west coast and we were able to put them to use right away. We slid them over his runners as it wasn’t that cold out and he had no trouble walking in them whatsoever. I would suggest though, if you are planning on using them over shoes, I would go up a size as it was a pretty tight fit.
Since we’re expecting an unseasonably cold winter here (with actually snow), we’ve ordered the Linerz to fit inside. With the Linerz, no shoes are needed. The Linerz are made of sherpa fleece to provide extra warmth inside the Booties. We haven’t had a chance to try the Linerz out yet, but I won’t be worried about frozen toes when we do.
